God said Yes and We said I Do...

Photo taken by DEM Photography/David Megginson

The Lord is our Rock....Miles apart from each other and facing our own challenges, who knew that we would meet and spend the rest of our lives together as one. God said yes to David and I in every area of our lives. The month of November is so special to us and especially this year because on November 25, 2016, David and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage. Recently we renewed our love for each and enjoyed a romantic photo shoot in my original wedding gown. God is still the head of our lives and we will continue to let God lead us!

CHECK YOURSELF...

None of us are perfect and before we judge each other we should look at ourselves in the mirror and examine our Christian duties to God, ourselves and others. We should strive daily to incorporate Galatians 5:22-23 in our daily living. Practicing these nine fruits of the spirits in your daily living will allow you to connect deeper with the Holy Spirit. You will begin to recognize what ungodly ways to remove from your life and what Godly ways you may need to strengthen.

We often have no problem loving the people in our path that are doing the things that we want them to do for us, but if one of them offend us we either officially or unofficially make them our enemy and stop showing Godly ways towards them. Although we no longer want people in our circle that have offended us in some way or another Matthew 5:44 tell us how to handle our enemies and haters. My version of this scripture is to pray for your enemies’ deliverance that they may become closer to God. After all God is our creator and knows how to clean us up.

Life events can be like a roller coaster which can be spiritually, emotionally and physically challenging, but count it all joy that if you are living according to the Lord's he will equip you with the tools you will need to help you overcome what life throws at you. Remember our thoughts about how a situation should begin and end are not God's thoughts. So let us all rejoice in the midst of our storms and know God will work it out for the good.

Peace is a condition of your heart. The benefits of accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior will allow you access to peace. No matter what may come your way learn to be content in knowing God will provide.

As Christians we have a responsibility to be loyal and trustworthy to God, ourselves and others.

Let's be quick to Love and Slow anger.

Judge NOT!

I greet you with Jesus Joy,

I was inspired to share this story on my blog because so many times we as Christians are not living up to our duties towards believers and non believers.  My goal is not to tear down any church or saint but to uplift all with a message of Unity and Strength.

I recently received a phone call from a sister in Christ stating that she was invited to a family and friends function at a local church and was not greeted with a warm welcome by some of the church attendees. Please allow me to fill you in a little about the Woman’s story I’m telling. This woman has recently been through physical and mental trauma and is slowly recovering in all areas of her life.  Although she was hesitant about attending this church annual function, she did not want to let her family down by not attending and showing her support. The woman mentioned to me that it took everything she had to get up and get herself presentable to attend this function to be greeted in an ungodly way. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith, Galatians 6:10 KJV.
As Christians, we should strive to do what Christ would do in any given situation, whether we are at a church function or inside of our homes.  After all, church is in our hearts from the beginning when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior. Most of all our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost!

In closing, you never know when you are in the presence of a Holy Angel, so always show hospitality. Please keep this scripture in your heart: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another, John 13:34 KJV.  When a person comes into your presence let’s not mistreat them but welcome them with open hearts filled with LOVE!

Love you in the Spirit of the Lord,

Greatest Love Of All

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8 KJV

I believe God knows our future without a doubt.  For some of you God has already delivered your soul mate, some are still waiting and many have not Let Go and Let God have his way!  God did not plan for man to be alone (Gen. 2:18).  If you are spending Valentine’s Day alone this year, take the time to pray to God to start the process of molding your soul mate. Everybody needs love, but sincere Love is the Greatest Love of All.

I know you are sitting quietly thinking I’m all alone, but take this time to get to know what you are worth and to prepare to celebrate with your future soul mate. Learn to depend on God, because he did Love us first!

For those of you who are spending time with love ones on this Valentine’s Day, cherish the good moments and be kind to those around you who may not be able to feel the same way you do.  Let’s be mindful not to brag about our gifts of love to others who may be alone or lonely.

With all that said, find your strength and enjoy your Valentine’s Day!

Love you in the Spirit of the Lord,

Recognize The Blessings

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

A few weeks ago a young child was stricken with a mouth disorder that allowed her not to be able to eat and barely drink for more than three days.  I couldn’t imagine not being able to eat or drink at the age of five.  She was so patient with her medical condition until the third day and while at the dinner table with her family she screamed “why do you all get a chance to chew and eat?”  As days went by she was able to take in bland foods, cold and warm liquids.  At this point she had set her mind to just be in survival mode until her condition improved.

On the fifth day of her discomfort she insisted in trying more solid foods.  So, she did it! She was able to chew and eat with very little discomfort.  At the end of her trial and tribulations she stated “it is so good to chew and eat food again.”

Her discomfort reminds us how we may sometimes take things for granted or become ungrateful for things we have access to. When those tangible things are no longer in our reach we tend to feel defeated.  As soon as we see a better view of reaching or receiving the things we once had access to we appreciate and respect our blessings more.

Take time to rejoice in the things you have in your reach for we never know when we will not be able to use them in our normal daily activities.
